STEAM:CODERS teaches disadvantaged and underrepresented middle and high school students of color the basics of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math), preparing them for academic and career opportunities

Does STEAM:CODERS have a minimum age or grade for students?

Students in middle school (grades 5-8) and high school (grades 9-12) are eligible.

How do you select students?

In order to secure a seat in a STEAM:CODERS class, students must submit a completed registration package. Students are selected on a first come - first served basis. Priority is given to returning students, for classes that require familiarity with coding concepts.

What will my child learn?

All students receive classroom instruction and supplemental online support. The initial focus of the STEAM curriculum is an introduction to computer science (i.e., coding). We offer classes that are age and grade appropriate.

How much does it cost for a STEAM:CODERS class?

There are no course fees. However, there is a non-refundable $50 registration fee.

How do you register for a STEAM:CODERS class?

You can register online or download the forms and mail them to our PO Box. We accept checks and/or money orders. We do not accept credit cards. Checks must be received at least 10 days of prior to the start of class, or the spot reopens. Please address the check to “STEAM:CODERS.” Write the student’s name in the memo section of the check.

Is financial assistance available for those who cannot afford the registration fee?

Yes. No student will be denied an opportunity to participate in STEAM:CODERS, due to financial hardship. Additional documentation may be requested, to verify hardship.

Are there payment options?
